It is very informational, and uses pictures to describe reactions and behaviors of infants in certain situations, like becoming comfortable with strangers, or becoming independent in eating food. There is little emotion or reaction, just relief when the last page is finally reached. He always seemed to find the correct tone for a story, no matter what that story was. I've read a lot of White House history, and this book isn't much more than a fluffy version of historical commentary. Details are lacking, and my interest waned early on. I'd classify it as a Reader's Digest version of historical research ~ not recommended....

This tale was too cliched and sloppy for my tastes but fans who love historical vampire stories might like it. But nothing tops the wild imagination stirred in the reader by turning the pages for himself. This book has all of these with an over-arching reminder that our words can hurt and heal, and we must choose them wisely. Luis Alberto Urrea loves Mexico and all things Mexican.
